Gran Arepa is a family owned business that came from simple beginnings with a family recipe handed down across generations and brought to New Jersey in 1990.

Founder, Consuelo “Connie” Leon, came to the United States at the age of 14 from Colombia. The middle daughter of 10 children, Connie was no stranger to the kitchen, owning her own restaurant in pursuit of the American dream. She later moved to Central Florida in 1992 with her three young children, bringing along with her this family recipe to share at local art shows and festivals. For the last 25 years Connie has strived to provide a taste of her Colombian heritage with beloved customers, both old and new.

Gran Arepa’s mission is to create loyal, repeat customers by serving this enjoyable dish with exceptional customer service every single time.

Our vision is to become the exclusive and most sought-after Colombian Arepa food vendor for art and music festivals across Florida and expand our reach to food markets, restaurants, and provide home delivery nationwide.
